The British team's cautious approach paid off when it came within a few hours of pulling off an even more amazing result on their Le Mans debut. Team Jota owners Sam Hignett and John Stack, together with Japanese Haruki Kurosawa, moved into the top six after 10 hours and were fifth after 21 hours. As the Jota team's Zytek 04S edged further up the leader board, a top finish looked imminent. Their run was interrupted only by minor glitches - a broken exhaust bracket, a broken headlight lens and a puncture - until the clutch failed in the closing stages. Hignett, unable to find a gear, had no option but to send the car gently into the barriers. Damage was light but the gearbox had taken enough punishment and it was time to retreat. "We've shown that you can make your mark with a little team and a tiny budget. We definitely proved something this weekend," explained Hignett. "We have a great bunch of people behind us that we've pulled in from all walks of life to help, and they quickly gelled into a team". For
